Los Angeles | Friday, Dec 06, 2024 | Friday, Dec 06, 2024 |
Much of Los Angeles lies in a fairly flat basin, surrounded by mountains and ocean. Although the Santa Monica Mountains, one of the most unheralded of the city’s remaining natural treasures, splits LA between the familiar sights of La-La Land to the south and the charmless suburbs to the north, the metropolis is easily traversed. Places for visitors to explore include Hollywood, Mid-Wilshire, the central strip of Wilshire Boulevard with faded Art Deco "Miracle Mile" zone and good museums, and the beach towns of Santa Monica and Venice, where visitors can stroll along the former’s remodeled pier and Third Street Promenade outdoor mall, or visit the latter’s famed Muscle Beach and oceanside Boardwalk. Lengthier trips to LA may include the old-fashioned charm of Old Pasadena, home of ever-popular Rose Parade and Bowl, Downtown, site of much city heritage and setting for what skyscrapers the area does have, the South Bay, the place to find the region’s second biggest city of Long Beach, and Malibu, where visitors can try to get a glimpse of movie stars and assorted celebrities.

Cabo San Lucas | Sunday, Dec 08, 2024 | Sunday, Dec 08, 2024 |
Once sought after by pirates for its safe harbors, the Los Cabos region of the Southern Baja Peninsula is now home to bustling towns of San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. Each offers travelers an exciting, fun-filled destination. Cabo San Lucas, with a population of 25,000, is the faster-growing of the two. In the past few years, swanky new hotels and sleek condos have been added to round out this vacation destination. Superb sportfishing put Cabo San Lucas on the map, but non-fishermen will enjoy the thriving beach community as well. Snorkeling gear, boats, waverunners, kayaks, paddleboats and windsurf boards are all available for the active vacationer.

Puerto Quetzal | Thursday, Dec 12, 2024 | Thursday, Dec 12, 2024 |
Puerto Quetzal, on the Pacific coast of Guatemala, gives access to Guatemala City, the capital, beaches and some significant historical sites. Magnificent buildings of the colonial period remain at Antigua, the colonial capital, located near Guatemala City. Guatemala was the center of the old Mayan civilization, and many sites from the classic Mayan period (3rd-10th century AD) have been excavated and studied. The largest of these is Tikal in the northern lowlands, where some 3,000 structures, including tall temple pyramids as well as plazas and monuments, cover an area of about 6 sq miles. Thought to have sustained a population of 50,000 at its peak, it was abandoned for unknown reasons at the end of the 10th century.

Puntarenas | Saturday, Dec 14, 2024 | Saturday, Dec 14, 2024 |
The Central Pacific's largest city, Puntarenas sits on a long, narrow peninsula in the Gulf of Nicoya in Costa Rica. For years, it was the country's principal port, and though Puntarenas handles big cruise ships, a large fishing fleet still anchors in the estuary behind town. Being the country's most important fishing port, Puntarenas is the perfect place to enjoy fresh seafood. Though the water is murky, and the beach may seem a bit urban, it's a lively town on weekends, when people from San José fill its waterfront restaurants and bars. A series of open-air cafes that line the beach are the perfect place to head for dessert, or refreshments, since they specialize in ice cream and fresh fruit drinks.

Panama City | Monday, Dec 16, 2024 | Monday, Dec 16, 2024 |
The sights of Panama City are many, but much of it can be seen on foot. The Plaza de Francia is dedicated to the 22,000 workers who perished while building the Panama Canal. The ruins of the Church of Santo Domingo features an arch that has stood unsupported for hundreds of years. The golden altar of the Church of San Jose is the only original piece of architecture completely in tact after the Pirate Henry Morgan destroyed the city. There are many museums to explore in Panama City including: the newly restored Museum of Religious Art; the Museum of the History of Panama; the Atnthropology Museum; and the Museum of Natural Science. At Panama Viejo, view all the remains of the city’s original site.
Panama Canal | Tuesday, Dec 17, 2024 | Tuesday, Dec 17, 2024 |
Linking the Atlantic to the Pacific, the Panama Canal provides one of cruising's most unforgettable experiences. Over 10 years were needed to complete the canal's 51 miles in 1914 - so avoiding the lengthy and often dangerous voyage around Cape Horn. 'The Big Ditch' lifts vessels by a fascinating feat of mechanics aided by on-shore 'mule' locomotives through three great locks, traversing man-made lakes, channels blasted through rock, and the dense jungle. Two other special highlights of the canal are Gatun Lake and the Gaillard cut. Gatun Lake is one of the world's largest man-made lakes covering 163 square miles. Gaillard Cut is an 8 mile channel built through solid rock which was the most difficult excavation in the canal construction.

Norwegian will make every effort to accommodate pregnant guest, providing they have not entered the 24th week of pregnancy when the cruise ends. Prior to their cruise pregnant guests should include their cruise details in an email to the Access Desk (accessdesk@ncl.com) with a medical certificate establishing due date.
Public areas throughout all NCL ships are smoke-free. Guests who smoke regular or electronic cigarettes may do so on their balcony, in the casino, or in the Cigar Bar. Guests who prefer pipes or cigars may smoke them in the Cigar Bar or designated smoking lounge. Cigarettes, pipes, and cigars are allowed outside on open decks, with the exception of food venues, sports decks, kids’ pool areas and other designated nonsmoking areas). Smoking inside any suite or stateroom is prohibited, and will result in a $250 cleaning charge added to guest's onboard account.
Guests with food allergies should contact NCL's Access Desk to discuss NCL's policies and procedures concerning special diets and specific allergies prior to their cruise. Because the vessels are supplied all over the world, it may be easier to meet specific food allergy requirements in some countries, but very difficult in others. NCL can arrange to have no sugar and low sodium meals for guests with those specific medical dietary restrictions upon request. Refrigerators are available in many staterooms for storing insulin.
NCL aims to provide a safe and accessible cruise experience for all guests with special requirements to the extent that is feasible. Guests or their travel agents must contact the Access Desk and provide a Special Accommodation Requirements Information Form in advance of their cruise. Access Desk coordinators need at least 90 days for interpreters and 60 days for all other requirements. Pre-arranging for special assistance helps travel proceed more smoothly. Assistance is arranged for at the time of booking upon identification of the guest's specific service request through the dedicated toll free Access Desk number (1-866-584-9756)
In limited situations (either on board or ashore), NCL may find it necessary to ask guests to make alternative travel arrangements, such as if a disabled guest is unable to satisfy certain specified safety and other criteria, even when provided with appropriate auxiliary aids and services. Guests who are unable to care for their basic needs (e.g. dressing, eating, and attending safety drills) MUST have a capable traveling companion. It is essential that NCL be notified of any special medical, physical, or other requirement guests may have as soon as possible, including whether the guest intends to bring a scooter with them.
Guests with Mobility Impairments
A wheelchair, scooter, or walker may be the primary mobility assistance aid for getting on and off the ship for guests who cannot walk on their own. Norwegian Cruise Line has a limited supply of wheelchairs onboard. In order to accommodate guests, Norwegian Cruise Line wheelchairs are reserved exclusively for embarkation and disembarkation situations. If a guest will require regular use of a wheelchair, it is strongly recommended that they bring their own. Guests may also make rental arrangements onboard from a limited supply of rental wheelchairs which are available onboard on a first come, first serve basis.
Motorized wheelchairs and scooters are allowed in accessible staterooms provided that they are powered by gel-cell batteries and the chargers must be adaptable to 110 volts. Should a guest choose a stateroom that has not been designated as accessible, they will need to bring a collapsible wheelchair. If the guest has a motorized wheelchair or scooter, the width must not exceed 21 inches to enter the stateroom door. All scooters and wheelchairs MUST be stored in the stateroom. Due to the safety requirements and regulations, they cannot be stored in the hallways, stairways, or any other public area. Beach wheelchairs can be rented for use on Norwegian Cruise Line's private island.
For additional details on the prearranged rental program, please contact NCL's authorized vendor, Special Needs at Sea, at (800)513-4515 or (954)585-0575, or via fax at (954)585-0577.

Guests mustcontact the Access desk prior to the cruise for more information on Norwegian Cruise Line's policies and procedures.
Oxygen
The ship is not equipped to provide guests with oxygen services other than on an emergency basis in the Ship's Medical Center. For security and safety reasons, NCL has selected Special Needs at Sea as the only outside vendor permitted to deliver oxygen supplies to the ship. Guests will need to contact the vendor - at (800)513-4515 or (954)585-0575, or via fax at (954)585-0577 - prior to the cruise, to make the necessary arrangements.

Submit Your Own Review!Good excursions and organized. Getting off and on the ship at ports.
Pros: Good excursions and organized. Getting off and on the ship at ports.
Cons: Too many people. Music too loud. Buffet was the same everyday. Too many kids!
Review: Allergy restrictions were not addressed. I was suppose to pre order my meals and no follow through on procedure in the dining rooms. Only on the last night. Didn’t have much on meal options in GF. Only sliced sandwich bread available which was dismal. Sailed last year on Epic. No problems there. I had multiple bread options, could choose my entree for dinner and desserts like everyone else. It was like they were clueless which caused a lot of anxiety.
Everything's included
Pros: Everything's included
Cons: No Cons
Review: Completely worth it!
Beautiful ship, friendly and helpful staff, there was something to do for everyone all the time, Jersey Boys were great, the 80’s band was also excellent
Pros: Beautiful ship, friendly and helpful staff, there was something to do for everyone all the time, Jersey Boys were great, the 80’s band was also excellent
Cons: People were let into their rooms when they were not ready
Review: My wife and I had a wonderful time on the Bliss. Kerry Tice of Enticing Tours did a fantastic job making this cruise a complete success. We would recommend Kerry Tice for your next complete successful cruise. The staff on the Bliss were friendly and helpful. You can not go wrong cruising on the Bliss.
Haven areas, staff
Pros: Haven areas, staff
Cons: price of shore excursions. Would like a few more choices of daily activities
Review: We had a nice trip to Alaska on the Bliss. The Haven areas are wonderful - areas to lounge around, bar, dining, pool, hot tubs, staff. I would prefer that games, trivia were not set up in the Atrium. It makes it difficult to walk around the area when popular events are going on. I would like to see a separate line for Haven/suites at the guest services area (not everything can be handled by the concierge) I would like it if the Haven 2 bedroom suite was set up for 2 people in each area (rather than 2, 3, 1)
Relaxing experience, outsanding service
Pros: Relaxing experience, outsanding service
Cons: Would have loved to have an Excersie
Review: The Haven experience was exceptionally luxurious, pampering and comfortable. I did not want to leave the Haven Environment... Very relaxing! Room stewardess, Butler and Concierge Desk, welcoming and attentive. The Haven Specialty Restaurant had excellent service, the food tasty was very well prepared. Good selection for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. However I Would have like to see more choices or alternating menus.

Ship was wonderful, food amazing staff very exceptional and cgeerful
Pros: Ship was wonderful, food amazing staff very exceptional and cgeerful
Cons: The time in ports was short
Review: The only negatives were that we didn't get go to the glacier but that was not anyone's fault. The check in process was extremely long considering that we had done all the the pre boarding things on the computer ahead of time.
The food, stateroom, and bar staff were very professional. The scenery was wonderful in certain areas. Loved Sitka and Icy Strait Point. Two class shows onboard (Jersey Boys and The Beatle Experience).
Pros: The food, stateroom, and bar staff were very professional. The scenery was wonderful in certain areas. Loved Sitka and Icy Strait Point. Two class shows onboard (Jersey Boys and The Beatle Experience).
Cons: Two of the ports were not worth stopping at due to time limits. Some of the activities were boring and the staff member was hard to understand.
Review: This was a total different experience for me after cruising the Caribbean twice. This cruise is not for everyone.
crew cares, and it shows
Pros: crew cares, and it shows
Cons: embarcation could be smoother, lots of waiting indoors
Review: We spent alot of time on the observation deck, the views were the best from there. Lots of bars and restaurants to choose from, our favorite was the Teppenyaki grill and Maltings bar. Lots of onboard entertainment, the shows in the atrium were fun to watch, most of the crew are very personable, and are eager to answer questions. The ship is newer, and the crew does a great job of keeping it looking that way
Nothing negative to say. The staff was fantastic. The room and balcony were perfect.
Pros: Nothing negative to say. The staff was fantastic. The room and balcony were perfect.
Cons: None to say
Review: This was a bucket list item and my wife and I went for our 30th anniversary. NCL did not disappoint. We had a fantastic time. Fantastic food, drink and staff.
Beautiful ship and staff
Pros: Beautiful ship and staff
Cons: Noisy neighbors
Review: Amazing experience. Great time beautiful ship. The only problem we had was with our neighbors staying up all night and causing us not to sleep.
Theater shows
Pros: Theater shows
Cons: Reservation service. Customer service
Review: Very disappointing cruise. Reservation system didn’t always work. Customer service extremely rude. Everything was to run off of app, which never worked right. Staff was not rude but not friendly either. Food was ok and over priced. Water was an extra charge. Really felt like you were on Carnival Cruise lines. Several of the bars/venues were always closed for private events. Ship is large but felt small.

Pros: Although big did not seem overcrowded. Buffet food excellent with a wide variety
Cons: Specialty restaurants not very efficient and took too much time to get served.
Review: Excellent food. Ship decor was bland. Issues with reserving shows, etc. too burdensome to have to reserve so many things. Paid tour of ship was not very good and did not even go to bridge or other technical areas of ship. Guys were disappointed with this.
Awesome ship and the amenities were first class. Really enjoyed all the ship had to offer, with the many free meal stations as well as the upgraded restaurants. The entertainment was first class, from comedy to singers and shows. .

Cons: People in position to purchase items and plans from should be able to communicate better. They do this service most every day of the year and yet they appear to have never heard the question before as if they are new. Customer service is a priority, especially when dealing with money. Please find people that can assist in these fields that can communicate well in the English language.
Review: Our family well have some amazing memories from Alaska and the Yukon territory.

We were able to make reservations for several shows upon boarding the ship. We really enjoyed all the shows. The silent disco was lots of fun. The service was excellent. I would definitely take another cruise on this ship.

Relaxation, privacy, and comfort
Pros: Relaxation, privacy, and comfort
Cons: Crew members who were at the bus areas directing lines were not very professional and a couple were down right rude. We didn’t pay top dollar for rudeness.
Review: Since paying the price for a suite, it would be nice to have an adjustable bed. They are more comfortable than regular beds and provide for easier reading, watching tv, or just relaxing. Our butler, Babalawah, was a complete gem. She was always friendly and accommodating. She worked so hard providing intimate breakfasts and dinners on many of the days. Tommy, our room steward, was also wonderful and worked at keeping our room beautiful around our schedule. As Gold members, it was a fabulous trip that we will enjoy on Norwegian again in the near future.

Pros: Very attentive, professional staff. Lots of venues on board. Great food.
Cons: The size of the ship and number of people on board got a little overwhelming at times.
Review: It is a very beautiful ship, with a great crew. I think it's just a little too big for me.
Observation Lounge is beautiful and relaxing when not crowded. Ship is attractively appointed and very clean. Staff was very friendly. Balcony stateroom is nice.
Pros: Observation Lounge is beautiful and relaxing when not crowded. Ship is attractively appointed and very clean. Staff was very friendly. Balcony stateroom is nice.
Cons: The stage shows Havana and Jersey Boys weren't good: Disclaimer: I don't like musicals anyway, but my musical enjoying wife and other family didn't like them either. Ship can feel crowded at times. No crepe bar at the Garden Cafe on this ship because they sell them downstairs at Coco's. Go Karts and Lazer Tag book up almost immediately and cost money.
Review: Very nice ship that we would have enjoyed more on one of it's Caribbean cruises where we could have spent more time on our balcony, up on deck, and enjoying the slides. Truly, the crepe stations on the Epic and Escape had us excited and talking about crepes for months before this cruise. We were quite miffed that they don't make them in the Garden Cafe anymore so they can charge you $5 or more crepes down at Coco's. The staff was great.
Staff motivated and excellent. Crew tip-top. Facilities were superb. We enjoyed the variety of speciality restaurants and activities.
Pros: Staff motivated and excellent. Crew tip-top. Facilities were superb. We enjoyed the variety of speciality restaurants and activities.
Cons: Minor comment on 'packed' nature of the cruise it was a little difficult to get reservation times when we desired.
