Kochi (Cochin) | Monday, Mar 31, 2025 | Monday, Mar 31, 2025 |
Kochi (Cochin) is the great, old Keralan spice city. It consists of mainland Ernakulam, islands of Willingdon, Bolgatty and Gundu in the harbor, Fort Cochin and Mattancheri on the southern peninsula and Vypeen Island north of Cochin. Because of the area’s dense tropical forests, extensive ridges and ravines, it has been sheltered from invaders and the rest of India. This encouraged Keralites to welcome maritime contact, and therefore influence from the outside world. In Cochin there is still a small community of descendants from Jewish settlers who fled Palestine 2,000 years ago. When the Portuguese arrived here some 500 years ago, they were surprised to find Christianity already established along this coast. People from far-off lands have been coming to Kerala since ancient times in search of spices, sandalwood and ivory. Such long contact with people from overseas has resulted in the blending of various cultures and has given Keralites a cosmopolitan outlook.

Mumbai | Wednesday, Apr 02, 2025 | Wednesday, Apr 02, 2025 |
About 300 years ago, the area of Bombay was nothing more than seven islands occupied by small fishing settlements. Today this bustling city offers a seemingly endless array of sights and cultural activities. Mumbai is the glamour of Bollywood cinema, cricket on the maidans on weekends, bhelpuri on the beach at Chowpatty and red double-decker buses. It is also the infamous cages of the red-light district, Asia's largest slums, communalist politics and powerful mafia dons. This pungent drama is played out against a Victorian townscape more reminiscent of a prosperous 19th-century English industrial city than anything you'd expect to find on the edge of the Arabian Sea. Mumbai has vital streetlife, India's best nightlife, and more bazaars than a visitor could ever explore.

Muscat | Sunday, Apr 06, 2025 | Sunday, Apr 06, 2025 |
Surrounded by striking mountains on one side and soft sandy shores along its coasts, Muscat is an ancient town, characterized by a unique civilization reflecting Arabian and Islamic influences. It maintains a medieval appearance with two ancient Portuguese forts guarding the rocky cove around which the town is built. In the heart of the old, walled-in city is the magnificent Sultan’s Palace and various ancient buildings, distinctive with Eastern Arabian style, Arabesque gates and beautiful engravings. The Muttrah Souq (bazaar) is without a doubt the most interesting souq in the Arab Gulf States - with a vast array of Arabian antiques, bright textiles and exquisite gold and silver jewelry. Muscat is indeed a treasure chest of places to see, where history comes alive and age-old secrets are revealed in a taste of timelessness. Muscat boasts fine museums. Distinctive with its clean silver sands, Qantab Beach is surrounded by mountains which prevent exposure to strong winds. Muscat is a photographer’s delight.

Each Silversea ship is equipped with a Medical Centre, which is customarily staffed by a doctor and nurse on 24-hour call when at sea. When docked, supplementary emergency care may also be obtained through local medical facilities.
At the time of booking, expectant mothers are required to supply a medical certificate establishing their fitness for travel at the time they are due to travel. Silversea is unable to accommodate women who have entered their twenty-fourth (24th) week of pregnancy during their voyage, and will not be responsible or liable for any complication relative to any pregnancy during the entire duration of the cruise or thereafter. Additionally, airlines may have restrictions that may differ from Silversea’s. Please contact your travel professional or airline.
In consideration of evolving consumer trends, and to further promote a safe, comfortable and enjoyable environment for all Silversea guests, staff and crew, the smoking policy was updated on January 1, 2013.
Smoking is NOT allowed in:
Smoking (including Cigars, Pipes and Cigarettes) is allowed in:
Guests who rely upon wheelchairs must bring their own. Please note that not all shore excursions are suitable for guests with impaired mobility.
All guests are required to report in writing to Silversea at the time their reservation is made:
By booking passage and by boarding the ship, the guest represents and warrants that they are physically and otherwise fit to travel, and that the guest will comply at all times with applicable rules and regulations of the ship and orders and instructions of the ship's officers and medical staff. Silversea reserves the right, without liability, to require a guest to disembark and/or to refuse to board and transport a guest who, in the judgment of Silversea or the ship's Master, is unfit to travel or may require care beyond that which Silversea is reasonably able to provide. Those guests requiring wheel-on and/or wheel-off access must contact Silversea prior to making a booking. Silversea reserves the right to deny boarding to any guest who failed to notify Silversea of such requirement at the time of booking.
Silversea ships are equipped to offer wireless (Wi-Fi) Internet access. Guests can use their own laptop to surf the Internet and check emails at Wi-Fi locations throughout the ship, or from the comfort and privacy of their suite. Computers, email and Internet access are also available on board at the Internet Café. However, it is important to understand that telecommunication services while at sea are via satellite and significantly different than high-speed connections on land back home. The signal travels in a similar manner to radio waves but at much greater distances. Therefore, onboard Internet access is not guaranteed at all times. Satellite communications are also affected by weather and the ship's location.
Internet Service Fees
The same rates apply, whether accessing the Internet via personal laptop or via the Internet Café computers. All charges are posted directly to guests' onboard account. No credit is given for unused Time Plan minutes. Rates shown are in US dollars and are subject to change.
Each Silversea ship is equipped with a Medical Centre, which is customarily staffed by a doctor and nurse on 24-hour call when at sea. The Medical Centre is not intended or designed to provide on-going treatment of pre-existing conditions or for extended critical care, and Silversea is not responsible for the diagnosis, treatment or services furnished by shipboard medical personnel. Guests may be charged for medical services and for medications used for their medical treatment.

Pros: Silversea Cruises includes free shore excursions. The ship's complementary wines, (and wine service),were exemplary, and well-appreciated by the guests.
Cons: Only 3 Guest Entertainers for a 15-day cruise. Only four "orchestra" musicians. Too many formal and informal nights. Very sub-standard/problematic TV remote controls. Only (Silversea) ship to have ONE unisex sauna, steam room, shower (with no lockers). No stateroom night lights. No afternoon tea.

Pros: The staff, the cleanliness of the rooms and boat, the food, the size of the boat
Cons: really nothing
Review: I would highly recommend Silversea to anyone - this was my first cruise and it was incredible.
Spacious rooms and delicious restaurants
Pros: Spacious rooms and delicious restaurants
Cons: Entertainment was sub-par.
Review: Staterooms were quite spacious with walk-in closets and bathtubs. The dining rooms were outstanding. Because of that, the specialty restaurants couldn't justify the additional charge. The shows were poorly attended, and there wasn't anything to do after dinner.
Service
Pros: Service
Cons: Restaurant confusion
Review: Suites were large and well appointed, LOTS of storage. Service impeccable. I think they have too many restaurants, and they have an image problem with Indochine which was the 2nd of the 'open' (non reservation) restaurants. The decor was contemporary, not what we want for a fine dining restaurant. Nobody wanted to go there, even with great service, they wanted Atlantide. I would also like entertainment at other times of the day than 9:30 at night. The performers were wonderful. More events on board during the day would be nice, not just games. But, we had no sea days so not as much going on

Pros: Everything was wonderful . And I didn't gain any weight!
Cons: ONLY small issue was the way the toilet paper holder was installed. I made the ship's hotel manager aware of this.
Review: The enlarged ship provided more dining options and they were all wonderful. The ship, crew, personalization, and shore excursions were great!. I did suggest to the bar manager to include Rye and Anejo tequilla.
Service, Ship, Suite, Food, itinerary, all most excellent.
Pros: Service, Ship, Suite, Food, itinerary, all most excellent.
Cons: Only one bad thing of note is how poor the Wi-fi internet service works.
Review: Other than the Wi-fi being bulky and the ridiculous charge for second users, the rest of the trip was magnificent. The ship is beautiful as was our suite. Specific crew members including our butler and housekeeper were top notch. Dining at Silver Note and La Terrazza were specifically noted. A great experience overall!

Pros: Totally refurbished, attentive staff, fine dining, all-inclusive.
Cons: Group dinner service is much slower than table for two.
Review: The all-suite Silver Spirit is fresh with lots of light. Art-deco with cream/beige decor. Amazing crew, always nearby ready to take on any requests. Service was quick and always with a friendly smile. Suites are beautiful, well-appointed, teak verandas, mini-fridge is stocked with your personal favorite wine, liquor and soft drinks. Bathrooms have a bathtub and separate shower with fabulous huge towels. The beds are very comfortable... The pool deck is large with plenty of chairs for everyone. Good size pool, three hot tubs. Dining options are abundant. La Terazza was my favorite for dinner. Delicious pasta; also has the best lunch buffet I have ever seen with fresh salads, seafood, meat, vegetables, the works. The Grill provides personal grilling experience on the pool deck for dinner. 540 mature, well-traveled, active guests.

Cons: tour vendor for
Review: It was a great cruise. The staff are helpful and friendly. The ports were GREAT! The excursions that we took were interesting with the exception of the Baths. An interesting place in it's own right, but excursion was too long, and "guides" were virtually non-existent.
Amazing food and service, great accomodations and crew that will do whatever it takes to please guests.

Review: Everything seems to fall into place on the Silver Spirit. The ship was recently renovated and the results are wonderful. Public areas as comfortable and there never seems to be a crowd in any one place as there as multiple lounges and places where you can just hide out.
Wonderful ship, fabulous service, beautiful itinerary, great cuisine.
Pros: Wonderful ship, fabulous service, beautiful itinerary, great cuisine.
Cons: guest relations seemed as though they could use more training.
Review: We really enjoyed the restaurants Hot Rocks and Atlantide. The servers were fabulous. Our classic verandah suite was very clean and beautiful. Our butler was great! Their shore excursion department was also very knowledgeable and helpful. I do feel however that their guest relations could use a little help.

Food
Pros: Food
Cons: Senior Staff
Review: Senior staff absent except for Louis Alberts, Points for prizes and art for sale is something that belongs on Carnival, not Silversea, Sewer smell in Suite 646, Shop merchandise was poor and no personal shopper, bring back Philip, Connoisseurs bottle package was 1 per day, used to be 3 per voyage, this is ridiculous I would have spent more on 3 bottles than others did on 10 bottles More info needed prior to sailing I booked le Champagne and thus could not attend Venetian society party, Spa use an up charge use of sauna etc should be included had to wait for tenders used only two passenger on 5 star line should not have to wait, Plastic glasses, CHEAP, CHEAP, CHEAP cut out one port due to propeller damage but next voyage went on as scheduled, what propeller damage this was a lie, no compensation to passengers no transport to town on certain ports long walk unless you were on a shore excursion poor show Buffet should be served by staff not self serve this is a health hazard. Service Stars***** Dennis the Sommelier, Yuri, Rao Mellisa Gerson Jeffrey the servers Richard at the gangway, Ryan, Hilda cabin steward and Dorothy the butler also noticed ship hull was rusty never saw this prior

Review:
Gorgeous ship with a crew that excels in every way. Every time I sail on Silversea, there are noticeable improvements.
Pros: Gorgeous ship with a crew that excels in every way. Every time I sail on Silversea, there are noticeable improvements.
Cons: Boutiques featured mostly expensive jewelry and little choice otherwise. ( I was surprised at the offbeat location of the boutique.)

Pros: Comfortable suites. Larger balcony with comfortable chairs and table. Good staff and service.
Cons: outrages wifi charges. We are used to inclusive wifi and computer/ipad services. Lousy bread always stale not crisp ever. Very few hot soups offered, soups were chilled variety.
Review: Total experience was a Plus and will consider Silversea Cruises again.
