Bella Italia

Whether you are wanting to ski, hike, bike, lounge at the many beaches, swim in the pristine lakes of Italy, or want to learn more about the Italian cooking skills or the wine, the amazing history and art of this country, or are looking for the perfect honeymoon, or want to brush up on your Italian language skills or learn the language there, this is the country to find it all. You will take home unforgettable memories and photos of Italy. Once you arrive, you will fall in love with it. The landscape, the food, the people, the fashion, the art, the architecture …

I have vacationed in Italy since my childhood and always loved it. Therefore, the choice for my honeymoon was easy. I could not wait to revisit some of these sights with my husband and Italy just offered all we wanted for our honeymoon. We started out in Ischia, swam in the natural springs of the Poseidon gardens and got all the relaxation after our wedding. We took a ferry over to the romantic island of Capri. We spent 4 nights there, and if you want to experience the romance about Capri you have to stay over night, because once all the day tourists leave, you will get the true feel for it. We rented a private boat to tour the island, visited the blue grotto, swam in the green grotto and had lunch on a secluded beach. We also went to Anacapri, which I personally found to have more charm. Imagine taking a chairlift up to Mount Solara, once you arrive at the top, you have the most amazing views off Capri and then get rewarded with a real ice coffee. What better way to enjoy a sunny day.

We then continued our trip along the Amalfi Coast to Ravello, which is more secluded and on top of a hill. We stayed at the most romantic hotel there and did not want to leave. Ravello is a small village but has some of the best hotels along the coast and has many returning celebrities staying there. We found a family run trattoria, where we ended up eating lunch and dinner every day, because it could not get better than being served home made Italian food from Mamma and be spoiled at the end of the meal with the local Limoncello digestif. After three amazing days in Ravello, we spent our last days in Positano, strolling through the small alleys, lounging at the local cafes, and taking a swim one last time in the ocean before we flew back and said good bye to the romantic Amalfi Coast.
